Route 3: A magnificent sailing cruise in the Cyclades, passing through Milos and Folegandros.
Monday, from Paros to Kimolos
Everything starts slowly. An important stage follows: shopping. Accompanied by the skipper, we prepare the supplies together, choosing what we need to live comfortably during this week at sea. After a briefing on safety and the basics of navigation, we set sail for Kimolos. The steady Cycladic wind accompanies us for this 3 to 4-hour sail. On the way, we stop for a swim south of Sifnos and lunch at anchor. We set off again in the early afternoon, heading for Kimolos. On arrival, Kimolos reveals its small white houses and distinctive rocks. A stroll through the Chora takes us to the ruins of the Kastro (castle) and we stroll through the narrow streets of the town. The evening ends with dinner in a traditional taverna. The night at anchor is gentle and quiet.
Tuesday, from Kimolos to Milos
In the morning, after a hearty breakfast, we set course for Milos, an island famous for its multicolored rocks and its Venus, which has taken up residence in the Louvres in Paris. A stopover in the extreme south-west of the Cyclades, in the pirate bay of Kleftiko, offers us a very special sight. Between sea caves and turquoise waters, snorkeling sessions follow on from dives. Lunch is served on board. In the late afternoon, we choose an anchorage for the night along the island's south coast, where we spend the night and cook our evening meal on board. Finally, the stars cover the southern sky of this island, where light pollution is extremely low.
Wednesday, from Milos to Folegandros
Wake up after a morning swim and breakfast on board, and it's time to continue this sailing cruise from Milos to Folegandros. A cross-country sail to reach this authentic Cycladic island at full speed. The program includes a swim, a meal and a siesta for the wisest, and a hike for the bravest. We meet up again in the late afternoon for a visit to the Chora of Folegandros, perched high on the cliffs with breathtaking views over the Aegean Sea. In the evening, dinner in a typical taverna offers a unique culinary experience. The night is spent at anchor under a starry sky.
Thursday, from Folegandros to Ios
We set sail for Ios in the morning, stopping for lunch in Sikinos on the way. We'll be waiting for the port of Ios in the early afternoon, so we'll have plenty of time for a stroll around this dynamic island with its mix of traditions and festive atmosphere. Known for its lively white alleyways and emblematic windmills, we'll head to the heights to admire the island's panoramic views. We'll book a table in one of the Cyclades' most interesting tavernas. Finally, those who wish can enjoy the island's nightlife, while others savor a quiet moment on the boat. The night on board is peaceful.
Friday, from Ios to Schinoussa
After a coffee on the port of Ios and some shopping at the local supermarket, we set sail for Schinoussa, a small island in the Lesser Cyclades with a discreet charm. The navigation is punctuated by swimming and snorkeling stops in a wild cove. On arrival, we discover a typical village where time seems to stand still. Dinner in a local tavern brings us even closer to the authenticity of the region. The night is spent at anchor, lulled by the lapping waves.
Saturday, from Schinoussa to Antiparos
On this last day, we set sail for Antiparos. A stop in a secluded bay allows for a swim and a leisurely lunch on board. We then sail between Paros and Antiparos to reach the port, where our farewell party awaits. Between stores, tavernas and lively alleyways, these last moments together will remain etched in our memories. The night on board is filled with nostalgia.
Sunday, landing on Paros
In the morning, a short sail takes us back to Parikia, Paros, and that's the end of this sailing cruise between Milos and Folegandros. It's time to pack our bags, take a last look at the boat and prepare to disembark at midday. Memories of this cruise remain etched in our hearts, while Paros softly whispers: come back soon.
